IOCL Recruitment 2025-26: Non-Executive Personnel – 394 Vacancy Details & Eligibility to Apply Online

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) – a Maharatna energy major – invites online applications for various Non-Executive posts in its Refineries Division. This drive (Advertisement Nos. GR/P/Rectt/25, etc., dated 20-12-2025) offers a total of 394 vacancies for posts like Junior Engineering Assistant (Production, P&U, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Fire & Safety) and Junior Quality Control Analyst. Selected candidates will join on a Pay Scale of Rs.25,000-1,05,000. Eligibility Criteria (Education, Age & Physical Standards)

Educational Qualification: Each post has specific academic requirements. Only full-time regular courses from recognized institutes are acceptable. Key requirements include:

  • Post 201 (JEA-IV Production): 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology (or related fields) OR B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry. Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).

  • Post 202 (JEA-IV P&U): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engg. (or Production) OR Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Electrical Power Systems. Plus Boiler Competency Certificate (2nd class) OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (Boiler Attendant with equivalence).

  • Post 203 (JEA-IV P&U O&M): 3-year Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Power Systems (with 50%, 45% for SC/ST).

  • Post 204 (JEA-IV Electrical / JTA-IV Electrical): 3-year Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Power Systems (with 50%, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

  • Post 205 (JEA-IV Mechanical / JTA-IV Mechanical): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engg. (50%, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

  • Post 206 (JEA-IV Instrumentation / JTA-IV Instrumentation): 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics (50%, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

  • Post 207 (Junior Q.C. Analyst): B.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry) (50%, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

  • Post 208 (JEA-IV Fire & Safety): 10+2 with Sub-Officers’ Course from NFSC (Nagpur) or equivalent, plus valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License. Physical Standards: Height ≥165 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for certain regions/tribes), Chest 81–86 cm, Weight ≥50 kg. Disqualification criteria include BMI over limits and specific vision/hearing norms.

These qualifications are mandatory. Higher professional qualifications (e.g. BE/BTech, MBA, MCA, PhD) will disqualify candidates.

Age Limit & Relaxation: For Unreserved (Gen/EWS) candidates, age must be 18–26 years (as on 31-Dec-2025). Upper age limits with relaxation are: OBC (NCL) – 29 years (26+3), SC/ST – 31 years (26+5). Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) get an additional 10 years relaxation for general (i.e. up to 36 years), 13 years for OBC (up to 39), 15 years for SC/ST (up to 41) [for identified posts only]. Ex-servicemen get age deduction as per government rules (effective upper age ~29 for GEN, 32 for OBC, 34 for SC/ST).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

IOCL’s selection consists of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT) (qualifying nature). The CBT is an objective MCQ exam of 100 marks/100 questions, duration 120 minutes. It covers three sections: Subject Knowledge (75 marks), Numerical Ability (15 marks), and General Awareness (10 marks). The test is bilingual (English & Hindi) and has no negative marking.

Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in CBT to qualify (35% for SC/ST/PwBD). Shortlisted candidates will then undergo SPPT – which assesses hands-on skills or physical fitness as required by the post (this is only qualifying). Final selection is based on the CBT score and SPPT qualification, with reservation and relaxed norms as applicable.

  • Application Period: Apply from 20 Dec 2025 (10:00 AM) to 09 Jan 2026 (23:55 PM).

  • Steps: (i) Register and create profile; (ii) Fill application and pay fee; (iii) Upload scanned photograph, signature, thumb impression, declaration, and relevant documents. Do not submit multiple applications or duplicate payments.

  • Application Fee: ₹300 (Rs. Three Hundred) for General/EWS/OBC (NCL) candidates. SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen are exempted from fee. Fee is non-refundable.

  • Exam Fee Payment: Through online payment gateway only (plus applicable bank charges). Ensure fee is paid before last date or application will stand cancelled.

  • Key Dates: CBT is tentatively scheduled for Last Week of Jan 2026. Call letters will be issued about 7 days before the exam. Results for CBT (shortlisting for SPPT) will be announced ~2 weeks after the exam.
